Queen’s Birthday Honours 2020

This year eighteen Cranlana Centre alumni were awarded Queen’s Birthday Honours, recognising their contribution to building a just, prosperous and sustainable society. We offer our warmest congratulations to each on these well deserved awards.


COMPANION (AC) IN THE GENERAL DIVISION

  • Naomi Milgrom AO – For eminent service to the community through philanthropic leadership and support for the promotion of the arts, architecture, design excellence and cultural exchange, and to business.

OFFICER (AO) IN THE GENERAL DIVISION

  • Ian Ross Harper – For distinguished service to education in the field of economics, and to public and monetary policy development and reform.
  • Michael Pezzullo – For distinguished service to public administration through leadership roles in the areas of national security, border control and immigration.

MEMBER (AM) IN THE GENERAL DIVISION

  • Innes Willox  – For significant service to business, particularly to industry, and to the community
  • Jay Bonnington – For significant service to the community through support for charitable organisations, and to business.
  • Denis Moriarty – For significant service to the community, to social welfare, and to public administration.
  • Tim Piper – For significant service to industry and manufacturing, to skills training, and to multicultural youth
  • Anthony Snell – For significant service to politics in Victoria, to the community, and to the law
  • Ming Long – For signifiant service to the financial and real estate sectors, and to diversity and inclusion

MEMBER (AM) IN THE MILITARY DIVISION

  • Sarah Sharkey  – For exceptional service to the Australian Defence Force in the management of health care.
  • Shane Gabriel – For exceptional service to the development and modernisation of Australian Army capability as Director General Modernisation – Army, Chief of Staff Special Operations Command and as the Military Attaché, Washington.

MEDAL (OAM) IN THE GENERAL DIVISION

  • Colin Anderson – For service to sport through a range of roles.
  • Simon Gipson- For service to secondary education.
  • Christopher Jones – For service to the community of Hobart
  • Amanda Milledge – For service to the community through charitable foundations.
  • Marcus Westbury – For service to the contemporary arts

PUBLIC SERVICE MEDAL (PSM)

  • Michael Walsh – For outstanding public service to the health sector in Queensland.

COMMENDATION FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE

  • Jason Groat – For distinguished performance of duties in warlike operations as the Commander Task Group Taji VIII on Operation OKRA in Iraq from November 2018 to June 2019.
