An ethical leader is at pains to question how they live with the contradictions and tensions of leading in a modern organisation and how to do that in an ethically rigorous way. It’s about building a better society.

Jerome Reid, Australian Department of Defence Joint Capabilities Group

The beauty for me of the Colloquium is that it didn’t prescribe what we should think or believe or adapt into our lives and leadership practices. Rather it challenged us to think deeply and critically and ground our future decisions and behaviours in our own judgement of what is right, ethical and just in today’s world. A life’s work.

Simon Holloway, Director Environment & Infrastructure, City of Stonnington

The Colloquium is a rare opportunity to genuinely consider different ways of understanding our roles as moral agents. Time to reflect deeply on why and how we participate in making the world around us, and find opportunities to do more to align our lives to our values. As leaders we are uniquely obliged to be aware and thoughtful of our impact and strive to be better. I feel better equiped to take this challenge on.

Suzie Fry, Senior Manager Crime Prevention and Policy Reform, Department of Justice and Community Safety

I’m hesitant to share my professional and personal experiences with people I don’t know during the program. How do you ensure confidentiality?2025-08-25T12:19:43+10:00

Confidentiality is extremely important to us and is reflected in the values we establish during the program and the utilisation of Chatham House Rules. While you’ll never be required to share anything you don’t want to, what’s discussed in the room stays in the room, allowing for honest and candid conversations.
