Housing Affordability in Australia

8 December, 2020

After warnings of a significant drop in house prices, Australia’s property markets are already bouncing back. What will this mean for prospective homeowners, and people already facing housing stress?

Peter Mares, Cranlana’s Lead Moderator, has written extensively about the Australia’s housing system and its failings. Peter and Michelle Rayner were nominated for Best Feature in the Victorian Homeless Media Awards for their radio series ‘Housing the Australian Nation’, which the judges described as “essential reporting that deep dives into the systemic issues”.

Peter and Dr Michael Fotheringham, Executive Director, AHURI, talk to Hilary Harper and Michael Mackenzie about the impact on housing affordability of the sustained buoyancy in the property market, despite COVD-19.

Cranlana Centre for Ethical Leadership’s programs include the 2 day Executive Ethics, 6 day Executive Colloquium and year-long Vincent Fairfax Fellowship. We also deliver online and tailored corporate programs. Find the right program for you. They are all held under the Chatham House Rule to encourage genuine and open debate, and allow participants to candidly discuss sometimes sensitive issues in private while allowing the topic and nature of the debate to be made public, and contribute to a broader conversation. The alumni program offers ongoing leadership development support and a lifelong connection with Cranlana.
